About 7P

Hi, my name is Al.

This humble site is about making dreams come true.

Passion, Purpose...

Back in my college days, there was a sign that went unnoticed every day as I walked by it in the hallways. The sign said:

Lift up your eyes upon the day breaking for you.
Give birth again to the dream.

- Maya Angelou

It took months before the message registered and woke me up. I had dreams, goals, and aspirations, but my path in life was taking me further away from them. I realized that each day was like currency; I could choose to remain asleep and spend it wastefully, or instead to invest it towards my dreams.

... Planning, Pursuit, Progress, ...

Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance. I was a young kid and dismissed it when I first heard about the 7 P’s. One of the biggest misconceptions given to us is that if you work hard enough you can get what you want.

I thought poor performance was simply due to not working hard enough, but now I know better. Don’t just work harder, but work smarter.

... Power, Peace

Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.
- Lao Tzu

The greatest joy comes when you realize that the obstacles that block you from your dreams can no longer stop you. The greatest fulfillment comes when the rest of the world can share those dreams.

Al, I read with interest what you 7 “P’s” stand for. May I make a suggestion? If you put people at the end, it somehow shows they are least important. Somehow I’d put them first because all the rest you list are dependent on them.

    What do you think?

    Hi Robyn,

That’s a very interesting observation! I never thought about why “people” was last of the seven P’s.

I came across this version of the 7 P’s from Entrepeneur.com and I had to go back and verify… it looks like the article specifically put people last. Hmm, I think you’ve uncovered the root problem with today’s marketing industry :)

You’re right… people should always be first. If this fundamental rule is broken, then all else will be useless.
