I am a pathological dreamer, and here’s my proof: my MBTI profile is INTP. My sign is a Pisces. I believe in the greater good, in making the world a better place than it was when I was growing up, and I sincerely believe that only love can create something from nothing.
These touchy-feely traits typically aren’t always associated with analytical people, but I contradict this stereotype because I am an engineer. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and then left to go to the California Bay Area to earn my PhD at Berkeley. I developed my analytical skills and critical thinking during my engineering studies at MIT, and although I sought to further develop myself in engineering at Berkeley, I attribute most of my personal development there as well.
At Berkeley I became more involved in martial arts (4 yrs taekwondo, 3 yrs hapkido and mixed martial arts), and I really became immersed in it physically, spiritually, and psychologically. I would read and re-read the classics such as Tao Te Ching, Art of War, and the Book of Five Rings. It was only through martial arts that I learned to face fear. When you have the confidence to handle yourself in a fight, you actually become less likely to fight because fear and insecurity have less influence on you. Ultimately, when the fear of life and death itself no longer controls you, then nothing in this world can defeat you.
I currently live in the Washington DC area working for a high-tech small business. My “official” title is Senior Researcher/Senior Systems Architect, but basically I’m an adult kid playing with high-tech toys that will eventually become new products. My work is fulfilling and it is a dream job, but I also have other dreams (did I mention I was a pathological dreamer?). I want to also be a novelist.
My life path was always pointed towards being an engineer, so I do not know how to be a fiction writer. However, I do believe that if I follow some of the fundamental principles that are associated with personal development, I can overcome the obstacles that block me from my dreams. This site was started because of my dream of being a writer, but my desire to see others also succeed with their dreams is what really inspires me to want to grow and share 7P Productions.
