A Day for Love and Healing
Growing up I always heard people say, “I remember where I was when Kennedy was shot,” or “I remember where I was when Pearl Harbor was bombed.”
As a kid, that kind of day was when the Challenger space shuttle exploded. As an adult, it’s probably the same day that everyone else would say: 9-11. I vividly remember where I was… I was in lower Manhattan. At that time, I was working in New York City and took the PATH train to the World Trade Center for my daily commute. I left the WTC building 15 minutes before the first plane crashed.
I was very fortunate that I was away from the building when it all happened. I knew survivors who worked at the WTC and their good luck far surpassed mine. I also know that there were many others who weren’t as lucky.
I sincerely believe that love is the only thing that can create something from nothing. Today is a day for love and healing.
Gary Zukav was an ex-Green Beret who served in Vietnam and had to deal with his anger problems, but now he is a best-selling author on spirituality. This is the quote for the day:
Eventually you will come to understand that love heals everything, and love is all there is.
-Gary Zukav

I agree with your sentiments and although DC is not mentioned as often as NYC, my wife and I felt lucky as Washintgonians to escape being near the Pentagon that fateful day.
